It's too damn hot. Ninety degrees in April? I mean, I always tell folks that we have no spring here, that we go directly from winter into summer, but usually it happens in June. Other half's allergies are killing her at the moment. I'm pleading with her to try acupuncture, so hopefully she will.
Actually feeling some mild optimism about politics based on a conversation with the friend who finally resurfaced. A rabbit may well be pulled out of a hat based on collective residual guilt (well, and it being the right thing to do and all.) Or not, but the issue may at least get out there. We'll see.
The Plunder Dome trial is starting. It's gonna be a very interesting several weeks. The mayor is showing signs of cracking up (mentally, not with laughter.) Even aside from this event, politics are getting pretty crazy right now locally if you're paying close attention (and who else is? I'm the only one who reads practically every newspaper in the state and then some.) You've got party switches in the legislature, another mayor accusing state reps of malfeasance as payback against him, town councilors elsewhere calling their indicted town administrator a liar and a bum, and the chairs of House and Senate Finance not speaking to each other. Something's in the air. Things will probably get weirder before they get more normal. The trial guarantees it no matter what the outcome.
