This is just too funny not to pass along: Guess the Dictator or Sit-Com Character. I played for hours and managed to stump it just a few times. You'll be amazed the characters who are in the database! Warning: I did try to add John Ashcroft to the dictators part of the database, but it warned that anyone trying to add stupid stuff to their database would be banned from the site, so I chickened out. It's not worth not being able to go back!

Just did a marathon of database work, about a third of what has piled up all year. I'm really gonna make it. I believe that now. Still don't like it, but it doesn't feel so overwhelming and exhausting. Also felt that familiar sense of accomplishment after.

I keep telling people that I want my headstone to read, "She was so damn virtuous." Maybe I should have a She Was So Damn Virtuous Watch in this blog, like Captain Bareback apparently has (used to have?) a Bush Masculinity Watch in his. (So I've heard. I'm not about to go read it to find out. Every hit just inflates his ego a little more.) So anyway, today's installment of She Was So Damn Virtuous Watch: at the movie theater, other half threw her empty water bottle in the trash, and I fished it out to take it home to recycle (it wasn't gross or anything.) And on that database work, not only did I set aside the bounces for recycling, but I used a magic marker to mark out identifying name/address information on each one. Yes, she was so damn virtuous.

Offered to do something for an organization that might be helpful to them but might disrupt their natural flow of things. It's something I would like to do but won't be heartbroken if they don't want me to, and I think I made that clear enough. But now my fear is that they don't want me to do it and don't know how to break it to me. I'm just speculating wildly, but I do wonder if that's it. I wish they would tell me because I need to do a little preparation (not much, but enough that I need some warning.)

One of the remaining (for now) lying politicians is dissing our organization. We have given him more opportunity than we have given others to respond, but he is deliberately ignoring us. When he loses his race, he will then turn around and blame us. You can just about set your watch by it. I just hope I'm not in the path of the meltdown that he will inevitably have.

For once the ProJo printed an honest headline: Ultra-conservative Journal Censors Writers. No doubt they were trying to be holier than thou, but they accidentally printed the truth instead! If you notice, the URL for the letter includes "bighow." I looked at the URLs for other letters, and they are all based on the writer's last name. But this one rather is part of the writer's first name with an apparent snarky comment added on. They just can't help themselves. Jerks.
